For only the second time since starting Beer Hug 5 years ago, we’ve managed to get our hands on a micro-allocation (only 100 boxes) of local favourites from Wānaka Beerworks. If you love discovering new beers you won’t find locally, you’ll want to jump on this release quick smart! 

Wānaka Beerworks has come a long way since Dave Gillies opened Central Otago’s first microbrewery back in 1998. Dave and his friend had grown tired of drinking ‘run of the mill’ style beer at the lakefront. They decided to try something a little different, something Dave had grown accustomed to finding in his home state of California. 

Wānaka Beerworks produce 100,000 litres of 'liquid gold' each year and are still powered by the natural spring water from the mountains that they have special access to. They have also welcomed solar panels to supply the brewery's power. That’s why these brews taste so crisp, clean and refreshing! 

Today the brewery is still 100% local and owned and operated in beautiful Wānaka. Contained in your taste of Wānaka are the following 6x 330ml + 6 x 440ml brews; 

• 🏂 2 x Brewski Pilsner 330ml (5.0%): An exclusive medley of New Zealand hops driven by noble Motueka and finished with balanced citrus aromas derived from Nelson Sauvin, Taiheke, & Wakatu hops. Full craft flavour featuring less carbs than the average Kiwi beer.
• 🏂 2 x Cardrona Lager 330ml (5.0%): Showcasing New Zealand’s approach to old world hops, starting and finishing with Green Bullet. Adding Pacifica hop’s spicy character & an all New Zealand malt profile results in a classically brewed to style premium lager.
• 🏂 2 x Jabberwocky Pale Ale 330ml (5.8%): We didn’t take the B-line on this drop, it’s unfiltered but not unrefined. A refreshing blend of floral, fruit and malts all merge smoothly into a classic Otago Pale Ale.
• 🏂 2 x Grazin on the Haze Hazy IPA 440ml (5.5%): Grazing provides striking satisfaction and other benefits by utilising 100% New Zealand hops and malts leading to more productive enjoyment during peak consumption.
• 🏂 2 x Jabberwocky Ruby Island Red IPA 440ml (6.2%): Red sky at night, shepherd's delight malts build into a vivid ruby hued IPA, balanced down with deep fruit tones.
• 🏂 2 x Jabberwocky Hazy Pale Ale 440ml (5.0%): A heroic citrus profile arises from the coveted Citra hops, musters with a soft body, creating a smooth, substantial Hazy.
