On 31st July, 32 of NZ’s best craft breweries will go head-to-head to find out who can produce NZ’s best West Coast IPA. It’s called the West Coast IPA Challenge proudly brought to you by The Malthouse, The Fork & Brewer, Yakima Chief Hops, Konvoy Kegs, Cryo Malt, MCC Labels and Lallemand Brewing.

We are stoked to offer you an early bird pre-release of the official '26 legends as judged at the 19th Annual 2025 West Coast IPA Challenge held at the legendary The Malthouse in Wellington. Widely regarded as the most prestigious award in NZ craft beer, this is a MASSIVE DEAL!

🔥In this one-off exclusive Beer Hug release you’ll get 12 of NZ’s finest and freshest WCIPA brews (typically 12x440ml). You’ll also receive a 12-page booklet with detailed judging criteria, tasting notes and space to rate the beers yourself!🔥

The beers contained in this release will be based upon the highest rated packaged beers as judged at the competition (sorry we can’t ship keg only entries!). Your beers will be packaged and shipped early August as soon as the last beer arrives at our packaging facility. Now that’s fresh!
