For brewers all over the country, the fresh hop harvest is just like Christmas with a flurry of excitement to get their hands on their prized fresh hops…..then rush madly to get the delicate hop cones into their fermenters and kettles as fast as possible to preserve the oils and aromas that make these beers so special.
We reckon this will be the best box of beers in NZ this year. 12 super-fresh, fresh-hop Freshies from 12 of NZ’s best craft breweries. Featuring fresh Nectaron®, Nelson Sauvin™, Riwaka™, Motueka™, Cascade, Rakau™, Pacific Sunrise and Waimea™ hops, this is must-have box for hop lovers.

- 💚Alibi Brewing Co. Lupulin Theory Wet Hop Harvest Beer Pilsner (5.2%): Hop: Nelson Sauvin: This beer is a showcase of Wet and Dry Nelson Sauvin hop. Passionfruit, Citrus, Sauvignon Blanc notes on a simple Pilsner base.
- 💚Bach Brewing Sticky Buds Hazy IPA (6.3%): Hops: Nelson Sauvin + Riwaka + Motueka: We’ve been on the new season sticky bud cone hops….from Freestyle Hops farm in Moutere, Nelson. Sticky and dank with lupulin, we’ve jammed in massive loads of fresh harvested green cones and pellets of Nelson Sauvin, Riwaka and Motueka.
- 💚Beers By Bacon Bros. Fresh Steal Fresh Hop Pale Ale (5.3%): Hop: Nelson Sauvin: Beers take on a fresh hop beer. Version 2 is more intense on the Fresh hop character from last year, as we have used 20% more Nelson Sauvin. It is late and dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin.
- 💚Behemoth Cheech and Chong Hazy IPA (6.0%): Hop: Motueka: Ahhh... Fresh hop season; our favourite time of year! Blissfully frolicking through the hop fields of Nelson on a warm summer afternoon. As soon as the fresh Motueka hops are harvested, they are sent directly to us and we get to brew the beer that very same day. A very limited edition; enjoy fresh hop season now, while it lasts.
- 💚Double Vision The Undead Hazy IPA (6.2%): Hops: Riwaka & Cascade: We enjoy spending our waking hours taking a second look at what define traditional style, and from there, we give the recipe boundaries a nudge. Yeah, sure it might not please the Purity Police…but actually, we’re good with that.
- 💚Eddyline Hoptimus Prime West Coast IPA (5.9%): Hops: Nectaron + Rakau: We're proud to spotlight the exquisite Nectaron & Rakau hops, sourced locally and responsibly. This West Coast-style IPA showcases vibrant tropical notes and a touch of dankness, characteristic of both the Nectaron & Rakau hops.
- 💚Epic Hop Dragon Hazy IPA (6.3%): Hop: Riwaka: Hop farmer Kem gets up super early for us and heads out in the dark to find the freshest, ripest Riwaka hops he can find. Once again, he has made us all proud. Hop Dragon is a perfect balance of the fresh green hop character and a deliciously drinkable Hazy Fresh Hop IPA.
- 💚Laughing Bones South Face ‘24 Mountain IPA (6.0%): Hops: Nectaron + Cashmere + Chinook + Ekuanot: Tropical and citrus sparkle throughout with a solid piney and resinous base representing the West Coast elements of this Mountain IPA brew. Overall, this beer is complex yet smooth and approachable, big, bold and beautiful as you’d expect from an extraordinary adventure.
- 💚Mount Brewing Co. Same Same But Different Hazy IPA (6.5%): Hops: Motueka + Riwaka: From Motueka, you can expect a mix of bright, citrus and sweet fruit characters while Riwaka delivers notes of exotic and tropical intensity. Our Fresh Hop Hazy IPA won't leave you disappointed but make sure to drink it fresh!
- 💚Pacific Coast Tapawera Sunrise Double NZ Pilsner (6.0%): Hop: Pacific Sunrise: This fly-under-the-radar hop variety showcases flavours of lemon rind and dank sticky mango with subtle notes of aromatic pine, melon and berries. With a crisp and lean pilsner base malt and smooth lager fermentation this one-of-a-kind beer delivers a fresh hop character that’s never been experience before!
- 💚Two Thumb Brewing Co. Waimea Hazy IPA (6.0%): Hop: Waimea: Fresh Waimea hops, sourced from Kono hop farm in Motueka. Two Thumb's favourite bittering hop gets a chance to shine as a Fresh Hop Dry Hop! Well-rounded bitterness with notes of pine and fruity citrus.
- 💚Urbanaut Fresh Hop Motueka Hazy IPA (6.0%): Hop: Motueka: Behold the unstoppable lemon and lime zest, the unadulterated tropical citrus characteristics of this Fresh Hop Motueka Hazy IPA! We’ve lured fresh-picked hops and sealed them into a hop-dip chamber to unleash the wild and potent aromatics held within, then layered them on a rich, juicy body laden with oats and wheat to deliver a refreshing and fruit-forward beer that demands another gulp.
